The expression and localization of Cx43, Cx46 and Cx50 in the anterior pituitary vary with physiological activities and with various conditions associated with both natural and pathological changes in hormone secretion. Anterior pituitary Cx43 and Cx50 levels increase and exhibit a more widespread d

Conflict of interest Introduction Milk and dairy products are nutritious foods that provide lactose, calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and proteins, among other nutrients, which have been reported to have a fundamental role in bone development and healthy diets. An adequate consumption of dairy

• The advent of the genomic era

  2022-04-18

The advent of the genomic era has allowed greater detailed investigation of enzymatic properties and has shown that specific enzyme activity is linked to the substrate utilization profiles of the isoenzymes [30], [31]. Not surprisingly, the functional four β-galactosidases from A. niger F0215 shared

Conclusions In this study, we discovered that the G-quadruplex (Q1) formed by S1 sequence in the upstream region of the transcription start site of c-Myb gene functioned as a positive transcriptional regulator, which was different from the most cases that G-rich sequences functioned to impair the

Our previous study had shown that silencing FFAR1 expression weakened the action of PIO in increasing insulin secretion in lipotoxic β AP1903 [6]. Resent research found that PIO promoted insulin secretion by upregulating FFAR1 [17]. Therefore, we presumed that FFAR1 may be involved in the anti-lipoa

  2022-04-18

Interestingly, evidence has emerged recently that suggests noncanonical roles of EZH2 in various cancers. For example, in addition to histone H3, EZH2 has been shown to methylate non-histone substrates, such as Jarid2 and STAT3, to regulate their transcriptional activities (He et al., 2012, Sanulli

  2022-04-16

In conclusion, the most salient observation from this study was that PAE reduced the expression of HDC protein expression in dentate gyrus, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum, but not in the caudate nucleus or ventral hypothalamus. The regional basis for this heightened sensitivity is not known, but it

The metal nanoparticles of gold (Au), silver (Ag), Platinum (Pt), Palladium (Pd) and/or their composites are also being widely used to develop electrochemical sensors because of their unique advantages such as (i) ease in immobilization of receptor molecules, (ii) catalysis of electrochemical reacti

Thus, while there is ample evidence to rule out a generalized blockade of TGF-ß signaling by Hippo pathway activation upon establishment of cell–cell contacts, more recent studies have established that, in specific contexts, Hippo and TGF-ß signaling may either interfere or cooperate with each other

  2022-04-16

It has been reported that expression of murine haspin is found only in post-meiotic spermatids and that overexpression of murine haspin in HEK-293 cells leads to reduced cell proliferation. Therefore, it was suggested that haspin functions to bring about Sodium 4-Aminosalicylate arrest in haploid g

  2022-04-16

The frequency of GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotypes vary in different populations. For example, Hiragi et al. (2007) reported a frequency of 17–35% for the GSTM1 null genotype and 22–44% for the GSTT1 null genotype in Brazilians of African descent (Hiragi et al., 2007). Chen, Liu, and Relling (1996) rep
