  2022-07-06

The first hypothesis, better fertility in heifers that had CL at day 0, was clearly supported by our results. Heifers with a CL had over 60% P/AI compared to ∼50% in heifers without CL. These results are consistent with several other studies reporting that cycling heifers have greater fertility than

  2022-07-06

Tamoxifen is still the most frequently used selective estrogen receptor mediator (SERM) in premenopausal women suffering from estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast carcinomas [15]. Although this therapy has been proven very successful, about 20–30% of ER+ breast tumors will not respond, or acquire

Transcriptional/translational modulators. The discovery that β-lactam antibiotics like ceftriaxone enhance the in vivo expression of EAAT2/GLT-1 [31] has pioneered a completely new approach to EAAT modulation, with several additional EAAT activators following in its trail (Figure 2b) [32, 33, 34•, 3

  2022-07-06

There are two ways to transport FFAs into cells. First by passive diffusion. Second as the putative long-chain fatty caffeic acid sale transporters are proposed, CD36 the plasma membrane-associated fatty acid-binding protein (FABPpm) and fatty acid transport proteins (FATP) [11], where CD36 is resp

Regulation of the GLI code by non-HH signals and by the oncogenic load The GLI code may be seen as the essential parameter to regulate canonical HH output. Its regulation first appeared to be strictly dependent on the presence of specific levels of HH ligands. Indeed, GLI1 transcription is so far

• Murine models of sickle disease

  2022-07-06

Murine models of sickle disease have been valuable tools in the study of human SCD pathogenesis [15], [16], and will continue to be central to development of novel approaches to disease treatment. The SAD mouse model of sickle disease is particularly remarkable for its erythrocyte dehydration phenot

The extensive worldwide research efforts in the decade following FFA1 de-orphaning aimed at developing clinically useful FFA1 agonists were nearly halted after Takeda’s first-in-class agent fasiglifam (TAK-875) was discontinued in phase III of human trials. On the date of submission of this manuscri

The ability of GPX4 and other selenoproteins to be selectively induced by ferroptotic stimuli suggests that the stress-induced increase in the transcription of a number of putative, “antioxidant” selenoproteins is an adaptive homeostatic, but insufficient response to prevent cell death in the face o

  2022-07-05

The exact mechanism by which N-BPs inhibit FPPS remains unclear. Computer modeling [10] suggests that N-BPs mimic the structure of the enzyme’s natural isoprenoid pyrophosphate substrates, geranyl pyrophosphate (GPP)/dimethylallyl pyrophosphate (DMAPP) or act as carbocation transition state analogs

In summary, we have provided evidence that TA, a novel HATi, inhibits the acetylation of histone and non-histone proteins and activation of the mRNA expression of lipogenesis-related genes both in vitro and in vivo (Figure 8), indicating that inhibition of HAT activity by TA is necessary for the pre

Hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs), including HIF-1α, HIF-1β, HIF-2α and HIF-3α, are important endogenous signaling proteins that contribute to the cellular response to hypoxia. Among these proteins, HIF-1α is involved in many pathophysiological processes, including inflammation, tumor growth and meta

In an effort to further improve the intrinsic potency, we evaluated the effect of the C4-substituent of the triazole ().
